the catch is concentrated

Set depth, or where in the water column the fish were caught, and placement, or how far along the line from the boat the fish was caught, are two decisions a captain already makes every day, usually on experience and instinct. This is the first time the gear reports back on whether the call was right, on the same trip the call was made.
From vessel video to a catch record
01 / Capture
Fish Normally
A camera and a small onboard computer pull catch information out of the video. Nothing changes about how the crew works the deck.
02 / Review
Review Hauls
Fish images, size estimates, and where on the line the catch came from. Captains correct anything the model got wrong.
03 / Compare
Adjust Sets
Compare hauls and catch composition across the trip, while there is still trip left to fish.
